A Simple Plan
Riverscape is our latest residential building to continue an approach to housing that started with Timber Wharf over twenty years ago and led to Wardian ten years later.
This approach to creating great homes begins with a simple plan that provides great spaces for people to live and work in. The exteriors of these buildings clearly reflect their internal organisation and structure whilst providing exceptional views and light.
At Riverscape, the Deanston is arranged with four corner apartments per floor, providing residents with amazing views towards Lyle Park and the Thames. The windows, which can double as a seat or shelf, allow residents to enjoy an alternative experience to the ubiquity of floor-to-ceiling glazing found in many residential buildings.
The building’s simple gridded façade with 3.5-metre picture windows is also a by-product of the acoustic conditions on the site, including a working wharf on the south bank of the river. Consequently, the opportunity for openable windows is limited, and most living spaces are ventilated using acoustic vents above windows.
