Double shortlisting for New London Awards 2024
Two of our projects have been shortlisted for this year’s New London Awards.
Orchard Wharf, for client Regal, has been named a finalist in the Mixed Use category, while Hollandbury House, for Ballymore, is in the Housing (Built) category.
Partner William Poole commented: “Located at opposite ends of London’s stretch of the Thames, these two projects are completely different in scale and context, but are united by the theme of waterside homes delivered through brownfield regeneration.”
Orchard Wharf, located on the Leamouth Peninsula in Tower Hamlets, combines a state-of-the-art logistics wharf with student and affordable homes, making use of the warehouse roof to provide elevated residential gardens overlooking the river. Its architecture continues the bold industrial language of the emerging neighbourhood, while the ground floor engages the Thames Path and nearby East India Dock Basin, to create a more pedestrian-friendly public realm.
Hollandbury House, part of the Brentford Project in West London, is a landmark building within a lower-scale masterplan that reconnects Brentford’s busy high street with the verdant river corridor. Large balconies reach out over the dockside, providing residents with an immersive outlook to the waterside and beyond to Kew Gardens.
